AM Best Affirms Motorists Insurance Rating

The property and casualty companies of The Motorists Insurance Group have been informed by A.M. Best that it has affirmed their current “A” (Excellent) rating and “stable outlook.” Motorists Life Insurance Company’s current “A-” (Excellent) rating and stable outlook was affirmed as well.

“In these challenging times, many insurance companies have had downgrades in both rating and outlook. I am particularly pleased that A.M. Best has acknowledged the group’s current financial strength and stable financial expectations for the future,” said John J. Bishop, chairman, president and CEO.

“Our group of companies not only met its obligations to policyholders during the worst year for weather and investment losses in its history, but has the financial strength to continue to be a stable, reliable market in the future,” Bishop added.
